Gravitational wave detectors measure not only vibrations in Einstein’s space and time, but also random terrestrial vibrations and noise. PhD student Harsh Norola from Nikhef developed a new method to isolate the real signals from all the background noise in the Einstein Telescope. He will receive his PhD from Utrecht University on February 12 and explains how it works in this PAPERCLIP video.
