Nikhef theorist Juan Rojo on new measurement of proton structure

30 March 2023

An interesting result, says theoretical physicist Juan Rojo of Nikhef and the VU this week to New Scientist about new measurements of the mass distribution within the proton. Protons globally consist of three quarks bound by gluons. American research shows that the gluons are concentrated more centrally in the proton than the quarks. So far, little is known about the spatial distribution of quarks and gluons in the proton. As a theorist, Rojo specializes in elucidating the construction of the proton.
