Nikhef physicist Pawan Gupta (29) received his doctorate for his research on gravitational waves from tidal neutron stars. In NRC’s Jong Geleerd column (in Dutch), he talks about his origins from India and his work in the Netherlands. “I didn’t speak English, but the math I knew,” he says.
