The KM3NeT neutrino telescope, one of Nikhef’s major experiments, features prominently on the cover of the 2022 board report of institute organization NWO-I. The annual report provides NWO-I’s approved annual figures and also highlights interesting research results from the nine affiliated institutes. These include new work by Nikhef theorist Juan Rojo (VU) on the interior of the proton, in which, in addition to up- and downquarks, heavy charm quarks also appear to pop up occasionally.
