On 6 March 2025, a masterclass in particle physics took place at Nikhef in an international context. Eighteen upper secondary school students were given the opportunity to learn more about particle physics.
After an introductory talk, the participants themselves went on to study collisions between elementary particles, using real data from the ATLAS experiment at the LHC at CERN.
At the end of the day, the pupils discussed the results they found via a video link with other pupils working on the same programme across Europe.
