Dark matter hunters Nikhef in new New Scientist paperback

4 April 2024

Nikhef dark matter researchers are featured in a new New Scientist paperback by science journalist Dorine Schenk. His interviews included Patrick Decowski, Auke-Pieter Colijn and Tina Pollmann for her story on the quest for dark matter. The book was presented this week.

The Chase for Dark Matter (in Dutch) is about one of the most misunderstood parts of the universe: invisible matter that causes much of the universe’s gravity.

The book deals both with the astronomical and cosmological questions this raises and the search for unknown particles that would explain it. Nikhef is doing intensive research on dark matter particles with the Xenon detector in Gran Sasso.

De Klopjacht op Donkere Materie by Dorine Schenk costs 12.50 euro and is available for purchase in the Dutch New Scientist’s web shop.
