For years, Jan de Boer, a PhD student at Nikhef in Groningen, worked intensively on the installation of a new detector in the LHCb experiment at CERN. He tested the optimal settings for this SciFi detector and developed the control system. He also studied the details of the decay of exotic lambda-B particles, as he explains in this Nikhef PAPERCLIP video.
