In the world of elementary particles, there are three fundamental forces of nature that describe the behaviour of particles. Together with the weak and strong nuclear forces, the electromagnetic force not only determines how particles push and pull each other in the quantum world, but also how new matter can be formed. Gravity, the force that describes the behaviour of large objects in the universe, has a fundamentally different structure.
