The Amsterdam Science Park Open Day is a collaboration between AMOLF, ARCNL, AUC, CWI, Netherlands eScience Center, Nikhef, SURFsara and UvA-FNWI and is part of the Weekend of Science (Weekend van de Wetenschap). It is a fantastic opportunity to have a look behind the scenes of scientific research at the Amsterdam Science Park. Come visit us, we are looking forward to meeting you.
At Nikhef, different activities are organised for children and adults, among which demonstrations about the LHC experiments ALICE, ATLAS and LHCb, and about gravitational waves and dark matter. Kids will be happy to hear that the MechanoLAB and Funlab (pretlab) are back again this year, as well as the hunt for partices in the particle zoo!
During the Open Day, Nikhef also offers you a unique view on particle physics with special 3D viewers with which you can watch 3D videos using your smartphone.
