Neutrinos and cloud chambers at festival Noorderzon Groningen

At the annual Noorderzon Festival in Groningen, Nikhef physicists Daan van Eijk and Kristof de Bruijn will take visitors on a journey into the world of particle physics with a lecture and a workshop. On Monday, August 18, at 3 p.m., Daan van Eijk will talk about the most energetic ghost particle ever to hit Earth, which he and others observed with the KM3NeT experiment. Kristof de Bruijn will then work with visitors to build a real cloud chamber using dry ice and Styrofoam, which can be used to observe particles live. In the Pollux tent, Groningen, admission €8 per person.
