Protons are the most abundant particles in the universe and serve as an ideal quantum system for exploring how fundamental particles interact. But what are the particles that make up a proton? And where does its spin originate?
To answer these questions, as well as many others, physicists collide highly energetic protons and analyse the resulting debris to better understand the underlying interactions. However, interpreting the results of these collisions requires precise and accurate theoretical simulations of proton behaviour.
This thesis compiles various studies on Parton Distribution Functions, which are crucial tools used to calculate scattering probabilities in high-energy experiments, such as those conducted at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) at CERN.
