Entrance procedures

Entrance Protocol Nikhef Housing Site

  1. Entrance to the Nikhef-building (Science Park 105, Amsterdam) and the housing room is granted only to persons, who are designated by the Client as authorized personnel from the Client or authorized personnel from a third party operating on behalf of the Client. The Client declares that all authorized personnel will comply with the entrance protocol at Nikhef.
  2. A list of authorized personnel has to be provided to Nikhef by the Client at the start of the housing contract and/or upon Nikhef’s request. The Client is responsible for the list and notifies Nikhef in writing of any change in the list of authorized personnel as soon as possible.
  3. At least one person and no more than two persons from the Client on this list are designated as ‘contact person’ by the Client; a ‘contact person’ is qualified by the Client to authorize entrance in case visitors do not appear on the registered list of authorized personnel.
  4. Entrance protocol during office hours (08:30h – 17:00h, Monday-Friday):
    a. The visitor checks in at the Nikhef reception desk (Science Park 105, Amsterdam), fills in the visitors list and upon request states the reason for his visit and shows a valid identification (passport or driver’s license and/or company ID card). Note: in-house cabling activities may only be carried out during office hours. If the visitor states cabling as the reason for his visit, the receptionist will inform Nikhef housing staff, who will accompany the visitor to the housing room.
    b. If the receptionist confirms that the visitor appears on the list of authorized personnel, the receptionist will hand over the key to the housing room and a customer badge, which has to be worn visibly.
    c. If the visitor does not appear on the list of authorized personnel, he will be denied entrance, unless the contact person has been granted access after an designated ‘contact person’ has filled in the access request form on the website.
    d. Before leaving Nikhef the visitor returns the key and badge to the Nikhef reception desk and signs off the visitors list. If the visitor leaves after 17:00h the key and badge should be returned to the WCW Security desk at Interxion (Science Park 121, Amsterdam).
  5. Entrance protocol outside office hours (including designated holidays*):
    a. At least 30 minutes in advance the visitor notifies Security (+31 20 592 6060) of his arrival. He has to provide his name, company and a (mobile) phone number, which serve to verify the authorization.
    b. Upon arrival the visitor checks in at the WCW Security desk at Interxion (Science Park 121, Amsterdam). He fills in the visitors list and upon request states the reason for his visit and shows a valid identification (passport or driver’s license and/or company ID card).
