I am a particle physicist working at Nikhef (Amsterdam, The Netherlands). My research is focussed, as a member of the Atlas experiment, on analyzing proton-proton collissions at the LHC collider at CERN (Geneva, Switzerland).

As an associate professor at the University of Amsterdam I teach (particle) physics to bachelor and master students.

I'm the author of popular science book on particle physics: 'De Melodie van de Natuur' (Atlas Contact , 2018). English translation in 2019.

Starting January 2022 I have been appointed as a professor by special appointment in the physics department of Leiden University where I will work on (research in) science communication in physics. On June 7th 2024 I held my inaugural lecture at Leiden University.

On this webpage you'll find some information on my recent research, teaching and outreach activities. Another way to find out what I'm up to is to follow me on Twitter: @IvovanVulpen
