Because the upper 4 address lines of the transputer are used to select a cycle type the upper 4 VME-address lines are supplied by a Statusregister, thus enabling the 2TP-VME to cover the full 4 GByte address space. The user must set the correct VME address line settings (for A31, A30, A29 and A28) in Statusregister 3 (see section 4 on the Statusregisters).
Memory segments suitable for VME A32 cycles can also be used for A24 and A16 cycles. Then the Address Modifier code should be set accordingly in the appropriate Address Modifier Register.
In principle A32 cycles can be done in all transputer memory segments mapped to VME, but only the two 1-GByte segments fully mapped to VME ($4000 0000 - $7FFF FFFF and $C000 0000 - $FFFF FFFF) can offer full 4 GByte address space coverage.
