December Higgs

Since the status update on the search for the Higgs by Atlas and CMS during the public seminar at Cern (see Cern seminar) on December 13, I feel uncomfortable. Yes there are hints in the data for the existence of a Higgs particle – yet they are not significant enough to claim its discovery. And the hints are certainly not significant enough to convince me at this moment. I am very curious for the analysis of the upcoming 2012 data; a Higgs (or any particle) around 126 GeV will surprise me for a long time more.

In the mean time there are a number of presentations on the current status. For example at the KNAW on januari 11. Have a look at this nice program at the KNAW minisymposium.
