Professor in experimental particle physics at the Institute of Physics of the Faculty of Science of the Universiteit van Amsterdam.
Currently serving as the director of IHEF, the division of particle physics of the Institute of Physics.
Scientist at Nikhef, the Dutch National Institute for Subatomic Physics. Member of the ATLAS experiment at the Large Hadron Collider at CERN.
Watch the LHC status live here. A live-stream of displays of LHC collisions recorded by ATLAS can be found here.
My interests also include neutrino physics, in particular the Deep Underground Neutrino Experiment (DUNE).
At the University of Amsterdam, I teach the Master course Beyond the Standard Model, and I am the contact person for the Bachelor's Subatomic Physics workshop (3rd year), and the Nikhef Research Projects (2nd year).
