INSTALLATION STEPS
  • Place and align the Concrete stand
    Tolerances all directions +/- 2mm

estimated weight stand = 2500 Kg
  • Place Centerframe on Concrete stand
  • Align Centerframe to the beamline and IP
    Tolerances X-Y=+/- 50 micron Z=+/- 200 micron
  • Remove top half of Centerframe
  • Mount Vacuum Vessel on support and Align
    to the beamline and IP
    Tolerances X-Y=+/- 200 micron Z=+/- 500 micron
  • Centerframe is moved in lowest position
to get free space for installation of the two Detector
    Supports

estimated weight vessel = 1000 Kg
  • Two Detector Supports are mounted together
    on a lifting frame.
  • The bellows are compressed in order to have
free space inside the Vacuum Vessel

estimated lifting weight = 400 Kg
  • The assembly will be guided by a rail into the
    Vacuum Vessel
  • The assembly is sliding into the Vacuum Vessel
  • Centerframe moved up and will be connected with the
support spheres of the Detector Supports.
  • Temporary connection between the two
    Detector Supports is mounted
  • Lifting device is decoupled from the Detectors
    Supports
  • Top half Centerframe is mounted on the bottom
    half Centerframe
  • Support spheres of the Detector Supports will
    fit into the Top Centerfame
  • Beampipe and vacuum equipment are connected
    to the Vacuum Vessel
  • Flanges are mounted on the Detector flanges
    (secondary vacuum)
  • The Vacuum Vessel is evacuated and baked-out
  • Primairy and secondary vacuum are vented with
Ultra pure Neon to atmospheric pressure.
  • Flanges on secondary vacuum are removed
  • Installation frames for the Detectors are placed
  • Detectors are sliding on the Installation
    frames into the Vacuum Vessel.
See page 'Installation Detector' for the installation
    procedure

estimated lifting weight = 200 Kg
  • Primairy vacuum and secondary vacuum
    are evacuated
  • Protecting covers are placed
  • The VErtex LOcator is ready to use
