LHCb Outer Tracker
Engineering Design Review - Part I
(Detector Modules)
-
Scope of the Review
-
The status of the Engineering Design of the LHCb Outer Tracker
detector modules shall be reviewed.
Each detector module is a standalone
detector unit,
containing two staggered layers of straw tubes,
packed inside a gas-tight box.
Four layers (XUVX) of detector modules are then mounted in a
Station on Aluminum frame.
The focus of this first Engineering
Design Review shall be on the design of the main components
of the straw-tubes modules and their assembly.
The Engineering Design of the Infrastructure (Station Frames
and detector Services, Installation etc.)
shall be reviewed at a later stage.
A short summary of the infrastructure
design will be given, in so far as it concerns the
interface
between the detector modules and the Station Frames
and the Services to the detector modules.
