Title: The CUORE neutrinoless double beta decay experiment

Abstract:
CUORE is an upcoming cryogenic bolometer experiment designed to search for neutrinoless double beta decay in Te-130. The detector will be located underground at the Gran Sasso National Laboratory (LNGS), Italy, in order to achieve the extremely low backgrounds necessary for high-sensitivity searches of its kind. A predecessor experiment, Cuoricino, ran from 2003-2008 at LNGS and served as a prototype for the CUORE detector, which will be 20 times larger. I will discuss the motivation behind searches for neutrinoless double beta decay, the final results from Cuoricino, and the physics goals and status of CUORE, which is currently in the construction phase.
