Warnings

The photomultiplier tube (PMT) inside the scintillation detector contains an internal electronic circuit that transforms the low voltage from the external power supply into a high voltage needed for the electrodes.
The PMT vacuum tube is surrounded by a metal shield, connected to the high voltage. The outside of the metal shield is covered by a protective insulation.

The PMT is extremely sensitive to light. Always protect the PMT from exposition to daylight when power is supplied to the low voltage connection of the PMT.

Opening of the enclosure of the scintillation detector is only allowed to well trained personnel. Take care that the low voltage power supply to the PMT is disconnected.
