Meeting:Detector Technology Meeting
When: 9th of June, 15.00 hrs
Where: Nikhef, Amsterdam Sciencepark
Registration: See below
Purpose: The aim is to get acquainted with each other and the detector technologies that are used or developed. Once we are acquainted, we can look for overlapping areas in which we could work together on developments to improve our systems and results.
The 9th of June, we are organising an event at Nikhef for the people working with detectors. The aim is to get acquainted with each other and the detector technologies that are used or developed. Once we are acquainted, we can look for overlapping areas in which we could work together on developments to improve our systems and results. We have taken the Sciencepark in Amsterdam as a starting point and the people with close links to the Sciencepark.
We get together at 15:00 at Nikhef for a coffee and then from 15:30 onwards we will have very short presentations of just two or three slides presenting each group. In these presentations, one should present the application, the detectors used and the limitations they would like to overcome to advance their experiments.
At Nikhef we do ASIC development and work with the ASICs from the Medipix family, which are used in applications like X-ray CT imaging, electron microscopy, mass spectrometry, neutron imaging and quite some others.
When we are finished with the presentations, we will form groups with similar interest and have a short brainstorm session to see whether we see challenges that we can overcome by working together.
We’ll finish with drinks around 17:30.
Please register by sending me an email at firstname.lastname@example.org and indicate:
– your name,
– detector technology,
– involvement with detectors (user, developer, etc.),
– any information that might assist me in making the groups based on interest.
