Search for electroweak production of supersymmetric states in scenarios with compressed mass spectra at s=13TeV with the ATLAS detector

Because the LHC is at the energy frontier in particle physics it also often leads the way on observing or constraining new physics theories that predict the existence of new massive particles.  Exploration of the LHC data, in particular the higher-energy Run-2 data have been extremely constraining on the theory of supersymmetry, confining its viability nowadays to a very much reduced region of its parameters. We picked this particular paper among many searches as it describes a very detailed study of the frontier in such searches: it focuses supersymmetry scenarios that are favored by (cosmological) dark matter observations and are experimentally poorly constrained.
Apart from Nikhef contributions to the analysis, this paper also benefitted from the work of Dutch phenomenologists on the connection between SUSY and dark matter.
