About CERN BIC @ Nikhef

The CERN Business Incubation Centre (BIC) @ Nikhef is a collaboration between Nikhef (the Dutch National Institute for Subatomic Physics)  in Amsterdam and CERN (European Organisation for Nuclear Research) in Geneva.

The BIC aims to develop new products and services from technology, originating from (astro) particle physics. The BIC offers access to technologies, expertise and IP (intellectual property) from CERN and Nikhef. Together with our partners we offer an environment in which companies can grow from technological concept to market realisation. From startup to flourishing enterprise.

Our partners are:

* P2IP b.v.: the holding company of our funding agency (NWO, formerly FOM), from which participation in startups can take place.

* Amsterdam Venture Lab: the incubator for knowledge institutions in Amsterdam: it supports researchers, students, faculties and specialists in building  a successful enterprise in each phase of the startup.

* Innovation Exchange Amsterdam: the combined Technology Transfer Offices of the Amsterdam Universities VU and UvA and Amsterdam Medical Centers AMC and VUmc. IXA offers consultancy and services in the area of valorisation, business development, IP and contractual matters, grants, networking events and training events. IXA has a large network of valorisation partners.
