Title: Physics and detector studies for the CLIC multi-TeV e+e- collider
Abstract:The seminar will introduce the CLIC multi-TeV e+e- collider and the physics opportunities it offers. It will then describe the requirements for a detector concept at the 3 TeV baseline centre-of-mass energy, taking into account the beam properties and expected background conditions. The CLIC detector requirements will be compared with the ILC case, showing that the design and R&D work currently being carried out for ILC is applicable to CLIC in many areas. The seminar will then indicate areas where R&D in detector development and engineering studies will be needed specifically for CLIC.
