PhD candidate Bouke Jisse Jung contributed to the KM3NeT experiment, which detects flashes of light from incoming neutrinos at the bottom of the Mediterranean Sea. He discovered that uncertainties in the detector’s sensitivity and in the theory of neutrino impacts can play a significant role in the analysis of the light traces. This insight should help make KM3NeT more effective, he explains in a new Nikhef PAPERCLIP video.
