The Module Support is the main structure on which the modules,
C02 evaporator and
and cables are mounted. It's made of two aluminum halves, pinned and glued together for a maximum
stiffness. Inside the module support are the cable locks in which the
detector cables 'clicks'.
Before installation in the vacuum vessel, the module support will be temporary mounted
to the Detector Hood with left and right temp supports. While the module support is mounted to
the detector hood, the cables will be inserted and modules were placed and measured.
Just before installation these temporary mounts will be dismounted and the module support
is laying by gravity on three pins. When it's installed the final position will be defined
by the 3 bearings (defines the Y-Z position) and three surfaces (defines the angles and X position)
at the stainless steel Detector Support.
The aluminum module support will be temperature controlled by 4 groups of heaters (total=24) and a couple of
temperature sensors (PT100) which are glued to the inside of the module support. The CO2 cooling
evaporator is flexible connected to this module support to allow expansion and shrinking due to
temperature differences.
