The hunt for dark matter, featured in Trouw newspaper

For its weekend supplement, the daily newspaper Trouw spoke with Nikhef researcher Patrick Decowski about the hunt for dark matter and delicately reminded him of his statement a decade ago that he expected clarity within ten years.

That clarity is not yet there; no particles have been found to explain the missing mass in the universe. But Decowski is determined to continue searching with the expanded XenonNT detector in Gran Sasso for particles from the cosmos that could be building blocks of dark matter.
