On 28 March 2023, an international masterclass in particle physics was held at Nikhef. 13 students from the upper grades of VWO had the opportunity to learn more about particle physics.
After an introductory talk, the participants studied collisions between elementary particles themselves, using real data from the ATLAS experiment at the LHC at CERN.
At the end of the day, the students discussed their results via a video link with other students from all over Europe who were working on the same programme.
