PAPERCLIP VIDEO: Improving sensitivity for Einstein Telescope

23 April 2026

Gravitational wave detectors are susceptible to all kinds of noise and interference. PhD candidate Luise Kranzhoff studied techniques in Maastricht to reduce this noise, using vibration-free cooling and optical quantum tricks. All with the aim of making the future Einstein Telescope as sensitive as possible to genuine signals from colliding black holes.
