Nikhef Ph.D. candidate Maricke Flierman subjected new techniques for detecting extremely rare particle interactions—such as those in dark matter dual-phase gas detectors like XENON and its successors—to rigorous testing. The XAMS test setup at Nikhef in Amsterdam played a key role in this process, she explains in a new PAPERCLIP video. She will receive her Ph.D. from the University of Amsterdam (UvA) on July 10.
