Nikhef researcher stars in opera about neutrinos

Last Saturday, Nikhef researcher Kelly Weerman starred in Neutrino Bath, a space opera combining exotic physical phenomena with laser-projected sets and algorithmic poetry, in a series called ‘Obviously Unthinkable’. Weerman was also the scientific advisor for the opera.

Neutrino Bath is an art-science show starring three female researchers sitting in a boat in Super-Kamiokande, a neutrino observatory that detects neutrinos in a large water tank to help scientists understand the universe. Weerman: ‘I played myself, namely one of those researchers, a PhD candidate studying neutrinos.’
