Title: “A weighty matter — observation of ttH production”
Abstract:
The ATLAS and CMS experiments at the LHC have made great strides to probe the coupling of the Higgs boson to third-generation fermions. Notably, in 2018 both the Higgs boson’s decay to pairs of b quarks and its production in association with a pair of top quarks were observed. In my presentation I will discuss the latter process, which allows tree level access to the top quark Yukawa coupling but comes with a tiny predicted cross section. I will elaborate in particular on the analyses that led to the observation, and end with a brief discussion of future work.
