Running the program

The A3D ini file

A3D is highly configurable and the configuration is done through the reading of a file that contains all the user preferences. This file is called the ini file. The idea is that this file can be edited while A3D is running and then reloaded for the changes to take effect.

Every user of A3D should keep a private version of this file and tell A3D to use that file by setting the environment variable ANT_A3D_INI_FILE to the full name (including path) of that file.

starting up

When the ANT_A3D_INI_FILE variable has been set, the program can be started. The name of the event- or detector-file which has to be opened can be given as a command line argument.
