Belle is an experiment at the KEK B-factory. Its goal is to study the origin of CP violation.

I have been a member of the Belle collaboration between 2002 and 2003 as a JSPS fellow. I have been first involved in the tracking working group and have then measured the inclusive b->s gamma branching fraction and photon energy shape.

    Inclusive b->s gamma spectrum

    TOPCITE = 100+

    My main result at Belle is the fully inclusive measurement of the flavour changing neutral current decay b → sγ in the energy range 1.8 GeV < E* < 2.8 GeV, covering 95% of the total spectrum. Using 140 fb-1 I obtain BF(b → sγ)= (3.55 ± 0.32 ± 0.31 (+0.07-0.11)) 10-4, where the errors are statistical, systematic and from theory corrections. I also measure the first and second moments of the photon energy spectrum above 1.8 GeV and obtain <E> = 2.292 ± 0.026 ± 0.034 GeV and <E2>-<E>2 = 0.0305 ± 0.0074 ± 0.0063 GeV2, where the errors are statistical and systematic.

    Tracking studies

    I have also measured Belle's tracking efficiency using partially reconstructed D* -> D0(Ksππ)π decays.
