12TH INTERNATIONAL SYMPOSIUM ON HIGH
ENERGY SPIN PHYSICS

Place: Free University, Amsterdam, the Netherlands
Tentatively the following excursions will be organized. They depend on a
minimum number of 25 participants.
The Wednesday afternoon excursion is included in the fee for participants.

Amsterdam City tour (Tuesday morning)
This trip includes a visit to the Royal Palace on Dam Square. The palace -
originally designated to be the townhouse - was constructed by the
architect Jacob van Kampen. In the 17th century it was the symbol of the
power and the prosperity of the town. The excursion is concluded by a
boat trip through the canals.
Price: Dfl. 44.50 per person.

Volendam/Marken (Wednesday afternoon)
An excursion to Volendam, the old fishing village at the Zuiderzee, that is
famous for its typical Dutch costumes.
The trip from Volendam to Marken is made by boat. On this former island
many houses are built on 'werven' (elevations in the landscape) and on
piles. This was necessary because of regularly recurring inundations taking
place before the closing off of the Zuiderzee in 1932.
Price: Dfl. 37.50 per person (free for participants).

Haarlem (Wednesday afternoon)
This trip includes a visit to the Frans Hals Museum and Museum Teylers.
Price Dfl. 42.50 per person (free for participants).

Kroller Moller Museum (Wednesday)
This museum is located in the National Park De Hoge Veluwe and is famous
for its collection of works by Vincent van Gogh and his contemporaries.
Inside the park bicycles are available and during the aftenoon you will be
able to enjoy the park and its beautiful scenery.
Instead of spending the afternoon on a bicycle, you can to visit the
Palace 't Loo.

Zeeland and Delta works (Thursday)
The bus leaves Amsterdam at 9:00 a.m. The visit of the Delta works includes
an English-spoken movie, a boat trip and an excursion to the
'Oosterscheldedam'. The bus returns to Amsterdam at 18:00 p.m.
Price Dfl. 100 per person, including lunch.

Open-air museum Arnhem (Friday)
The open-air museum contains 70 farms with live stock, wind mills, old Dutch
houses and authentic shops as well as a herb garden. Guests are allowed to
roam freely through the park, using an English booklet.
Price Dfl. 105, including a three-course lunch.
