The lighter stop can be considerably lighter than the other squarks. In this talk, the possibility that a supersymmetric partner of the top quark, stop, is the next-to-lightest supersymmetric particle in the constrained supersymmetric standard model is studied. We’ll find that it cannot be ruled out. Observing this kind of stop at the LHC may be difficult. Many procedures have been developed for identifying jets as either coming from QCD or heavy particle decays using explicit information from such a jet algorithm. Recently, we introduced an alternative approach for identifying and characterizing jets by exploiting the properties of angular correlations between pairs of constituents of jets. In this talk, I will discuss this method and other applications of correlations to studying QCD and the underlying event at a hadron collider.
