The B-physics group of Nikhef has an opening for a PhD position to work on the LHCb experiment at the CERN LHC collider. The group is participating to the research program of CP violation and rare decay studies of B mesons.
Nikhef has contributed in hardware to the Vertex Locator silicon strip detector (Velo) and the Outer Tracker straw tube detector (OT) of LHCb, and in software to the online and off-line reconstruction of charged particles.
The successful candidate for this position is expected to actively contribute to the analysis of the LHC data and to participate in one of our research projects of our group, which focus on the analysis of B decays into charged particle final states.
The duration of a PhD position in the Netherlands is four years. During this time the candidate has the possibility to stay at CERN for a period of about 1 year.
Interested candidates should provide a curriculum vitae with a brief description of their research experience and at least two references before November 15.
