BatCan, a CAN interface for

3D B-field sensor

Nikhef

A small plug-on CAN node was developed thus allowing a larger number of sensors on a (long) cable, the BatCAN. It is based on the Atmel ##. It connects to the single in-line connector of the B-field sensor and is placed directly on top of the sensor PCB. Physically the CAN-bus is a 10-pole flat-cable that easily converts to the standard 9 pin connector. A connector can be mounted to support software debugging via the chip's JTAG interface.

On the right the prototype version is shown, mounted on the 3D B-field sensor.
