(EOL2C09 done on request: only Mezz #2 T-sensor seen faulty). ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- MODULE S/N : B429 connected to chamber BMS4A02 DATE : 2 Nov 2011 DESCRIPTION: (fixed in-situ) Increased the CSM-ADC serial communication bit-time (OD index 2101h, sub 20) from 75 to 85 microseconds (problem reported with CSM ELTX may or may not have something to do with it: if it doesn't help, it doesn't harm). ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- MODULE S/N : C118 connected to chamber BIS7C14 DATE : 18 Oct 2011 DESCRIPTION: (fixed in-situ) Increased the CSM-ADC serial communication bit-time (OD index 2101h, sub 20) from 75 to 85 microseconds (problem reported with CSM ELTX may or may not have something to do with it: if it doesn't help, it doesn't harm). Also had a problem with a B-sensor 'bad' the night before; increased bit-time for B-sensor ADCs (OD index 2500h, sub 22) from 10 to 20 microseconds (1 Nov 2011: doesn't seem to help; still bad<->okay) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- MODULE S/N : B960 connected to chamber BIS6A04 DATE : 17 Sep 2011 DESCRIPTION: (fixed in-situ) Had 2 B-sensors that stopped working; a CAN-bus powercycle did not help; immediately afterwards tried with increase of the serial communication bit-time for B-sensor ADCs (OD index 2500h, sub 22) from 10 to 20 microseconds (stored it in the configuration) and this recovered the sensors. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- MODULE S/N : B981 connected to chamber BIL2C07 DATE : 14 Sep 2011 DESCRIPTION: (fixed in-situ) Increased the CSM-ADC serial communication bit-time (OD index 2101h, sub 20) from 75 to 85 microseconds (problem reported with CSM ELTX may or may not have something to do with it: if it doesn't help, it doesn't harm). ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- MODULE S/N : B877, C558 connected to chambers BOL6C01, BIL1C03 DATE : 4 Sep 2011 DESCRIPTION: (fixed in-situ) Increased the CSM-ADC serial communication bit-time (OD index 2101h, sub 20) from 75 to 85 microseconds to prevent recurring CSM-ADC errors. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- MODULE S/N : xxxx connected to chamber BIM1A15 DATE : 1 Sep 2011 DESCRIPTION: (fixed in-situ) CSM was replaced due to faulty CSM-ADC, and things seemed to work initially but soon ADC time-outs occurred, so the serial communication bit-time was increased (OD index 2101h, sub 20) from 75 to 85 microseconds. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- MODULE S/N : B864, C703, D045 connected to chambers BOS5C04, EOL2A09, EIL4A03 DATE : 23 Aug 2011 DESCRIPTION: (fixed in-situ) Some error reported concerning FE-ELTX monitoring at least once in the past few weeks, so increased the serial communication bit-time (OD index 2101h, sub 20) from 75 to 85 microseconds. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- MODULE S/N : B636,B974,C362,C715,C811,C934, connected to chambers BOL6A01, BIM3A11, BIS4C14, EOL4C03, EOL1C07, EIL2C15 DATE : 19 Aug 2011 DESCRIPTION: (fixed in-situ) CSM-ADC conversion time-outs: increasing the CSM-ADC serial communication bit-time (OD index 2101h, sub 20) seems to help, conversion errors disappear. JTAG is found to be not working, due to JTAG connector pin 17; this time the ELMB (micro) is not the problem. Waiting for connector resoldering on MDT-DCS motherboard --> not needed; apparently signal needs longer to settle; increased time-out in firmware: error gone... (see above). ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- MODULE S/N : C884 DATE : 13 Nov 2006 DESCRIPTION: Module received via Gerjan Bobbink; no error symptom description. Found nothing wrong with this one in the testbench (and again in Jan 2009, see above). ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- MODULE S/N : C324 DATE : 07 Sep 2006 DESCRIPTION: Module received from Laurent Chevalier. "ELMB dead?" according to error report. However, nothing wrong was found. (the T-sensor ADC was disabled in the configuration). Configuration reset and module added to stock. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- MODULE S/N : XXX DATE : 07 Sep 2006 DESCRIPTION: Module received from Laurent Chevalier. Problem: suddenly stopped working (dead, according to report). The node was not dead, and reporting EEPROM errors and behaving strangely when trying to read out data; ELMBloader reveiled that the EEPROM was corrupted, i.e. part of it was partly overwritten with hex value AE; no idea how this can happen; due to a bug in MDT-DCS firmware version 2.3.9 (but fixed in later versions), the strange behaviour was observed; fixed by clearing the configuration, i.e. erasing the EEPROM. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- MODULE S/N : D116,B622,C334,C235,D169,C241 DATE : Aug 2006 (fixed Oct 2006) DESCRIPTION: JTAG not working for all of these modules (see also 2 problem reports, below) It was found that one microprocessor digital I/O pin (used as digital out 'Reprogram-FPGA', on the JTAG connector) was faulty; reason unknown, but could have something to do with the connection to the CSM and faulty DIP-switch setting there (e.g. after reprogramming). Fixed by replacing the ELMB module: D116 --> D523 B622 --> D421 C334 --> D247 C235 --> D795 D169 --> D310 C241 --> D293 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- MODULE S/N : B626 DATE : 21 Feb 2006 DESCRIPTION: Problem with JTAG reported; in testbench found bent pin Dig I/O #4, also called 'Reprogram_FPGA', but after repair problem with Dig I/O #4 persisted; ELMB is at fault, so has been exchanged; this module reincarnated as Serial Number D378. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- MODULE S/N : C449 DATE : 31 Jan 2006 DESCRIPTION: Problem with JTAG reported; in testbench found problem with Dig I/O #4, also called 'Reprogram_FPGA'; ELMB is at fault, so has been exchanged; this module reincarnated as Serial Number D758. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- MODULE S/N : C187 DATE : 2 Jan 2006 DESCRIPTION: Found nothing wrong with this one in the testbench. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- MODULE S/N : B681 DATE : 2 Jan 2006 DESCRIPTION: Found nothing wrong with this one in the testbench. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- MODULE S/N : B882 DATE : 15 Nov 2005 DESCRIPTION: Had problems initializing CSM (via JTAG).
