The Krim is located at the biggest Wadden island of the Netherlands, Texel, close to the little village of De Cocksdorp.
How to get there
By car to the ferryboat in Den Helder
When coming by car you can reach the ferry in Den Helder as follows:
From Utrecht: when you get to Amsterdam, take the turning Zaanstad (through the Zeeburgertunnel) and then follow the A7 in the direction of Hoorn and Leeuwarden.
From The Hague: you can reach the A7 via the Coentunnel. Shortly before the Afsluitdijk take the turning Den Oever / Den Helder.
From Friesland: leave the Afsluitdijk (A7) in the direction Den Helder. In Den Helder the shortest way to the ferry is signposted.
By train or bus to the ferryboat in Den Helder
You can travel by train to Den Helder. The bus to the ferry (line 33) departs from NS-train station Den Helder at approximately 10 minutes past the hour. This gives you direct connection with the boat to Texel. If you want to continue your journey by bus on Texel then you can stamp your ticket in Den Helder for the total number of zones to your end destination.
Departure times of the ferryboat in Den Helder
The double-deck ferryboat to Texel departs once every hour from Den Helder. The ferryboat 'Dokter Wagemaker' has a capacity of 300 cars and 1750 passengers; the 'Schulpengat' ferryboat takes a maximum of 242 cars and 1320 passengers. The journey lasts about 20 minutes.
The departures from Den Helder are every hour between 6.30 and 21.30. The boat leaves hourly on the half hour.
The boat leaves from Texel on the hour: the first at 6.00 and the last at 21.00. On Sundays and bank holidays the crossings start one hour later and in the winter two hours later.
Booking the ferry is neither possible nor necessary. In predictably busy periods there are extra crossings on the half hour. There is a connecting bus service to all planned ferry crossings, both on Texel and in Den Helder.

Where to park if you leave your car in Den Helder
If you decide not to take your car over to Texel then you can park at one of the car parks near the harbour.
