Fees and Contracts
The cost of housing equipment at Nikhef is as follows:
- €453 /month (excl. VAT) for 1/3 of a standard 19" rack
- €774 /month (excl. VAT) for 2/3 of a standard 19" rack

€995 /month (excl. VAT) for a complete standard 19" rack
For a full rack position a redundant 1.5 kW 230V power feed per cabinet is included in the standard fee. Any additional power use requires written consent by the housing manager. For power consumption above the agreed kW per rack Nikhef will charge €0.20 /kW·h on a monthly base.
Nikhef does not charge additional installation fees.
Fees for additional services:
- out of band management (analog or ISDN): no extra fee, only KPN fees will be charged (see KPN-website)
- private peering, point to point connection: we charge a one time installation fee of €300 (excl. VAT) for a fiber connection and €400 (excl. VAT) for a UTP connection. Patch requests can be entered online.

Customers, who wish to connect third parties to the AMS-IX infrastructure in the Nikhef housing location (in the framework of the AMS-IX Partner Program), need to sign an addendum to the housing agreement with Nikhef. The monthly fee is €90 (excl. VAT) for the first connection and €45 (excl. VAT) for all following connections. See also the current list of AMS-IX partners at Nikhef and their connected parties.

Fiber connections to other Science Park-sites
Fiber connections between the AMS-IX sites Nikhef and Vancis/SARA on the Science Park are managed by Vancis/SARA. The monthly fee for a point to point connection between Nikhef and Vancis/SARA is €90 (excl. VAT) for the first connection and €45 (excl. VAT) for all following connections. The installation fee is €450 (excl. VAT) per connection. For information please contact info@vancis.nl or phone +31 20 560 6600.
