Completed Projects

Just like research programmes have a certain duration, experiments have a completion date. The research often then continues for a short period to process the research data.

Before the start of the experiments at LHC in Geneva Nikhef physicists were also involved in research at DESY in Hamburg. Over a period of 15 years two experiments, ZEUS and HERMES, were conducted with beams from HERA (Hadron Electron Ring Accelerator), which was officially closed in 2007.
