Teacher in Science

Under the FOM programme for high school teachers, HiSPARC offers teachers the opportunity to participate in the project as a researcher for one day a week over a period of a year.
In the academic year 2008-2009, four teachers are working with HiSPARC staff members and technicians on the further development of the project.

The teachers make a contribution to one or more subprojects related to:

• constructing and testing instrumentation for the measurement of avalanches of cosmic particles
• developing analysis methods for processing the measurement data
• testing the measurement data against existing models by using simulations
• making instrumentation and analysis methods suitable for use in the class
• maintaining the network for the exchange of data, resources and expertise between schools and research institutes
