Pupils and teachers in secondary education can learn more about (astro)particle physics by either visiting Nikhef or by using Nikhef's resources in the classroom:
- visit Nikhef: lecture, film and guided tour from 13:30-16:00 on a Friday afternoon
- join HiSPARC: pupils take part in scientific research into cosmic rays
- subject cluster assignment doing research
- ask a physicist or an engineer to give a presentation
- make a cloud chamber with our help
- borrow the spark chamber
- Register for the European Master Class, 19 and 20 March 2009; take a look at the lectures from 2008! More information available at the European site
- attend Viva Fysica (end of January each year)(the annual physics event at Universiteit van Amsterdam)
- experience science at the Open Day in October!
For junior high school and technical courses, other possibilities are available upon request. For example, a guided tour of the workshop and the Mechanical Engineering Department.
Nikhef is actively involved in a number of modules for senior high school classes.
